Join Spaceus for a screening of the documentary “The Facebook Dilemma” by Frontline — U.S. television’s most in-depth investigation of the powerful social media platform’s impact on privacy and democracy in the U.S. and around the globe: Mark Zuckerberg wanted to unite the world – but is he responsible for dividing it?

This disturbing documentary raises crucial questions about FB. About its accountability, responsibility and internal modus operandi. The first natural response to it is - I’m disconnecting! To quickly realize - there is NO alternative! Instagram and WhatsApp are also owned by Facebook—and many of us use these apps everyday! Facebook is also THE main advertisement platform, for big and small businesses alike, as artists, or freelancers we are often brought to use FB as a major business tool. As activists this is the go to place to speak concerns and unite, what if future governments/ other players use this against us? Is our data safe?

This panel discussion is meant to shed some light on the work done by academics, journalists, politicians, thinkers and computer scientists to address those issues. Inspired by Blockchain technology, Solid (sir Tim Berners-Lee new venture- Inrupt), Onili ( artist working at Spaceus) is bringing this subject to the Spaceus table.
